Recommended PHP Configuration Limits
Many issues that you may run into such as white screen, demo content fails when importing, empty page content and other similar issues, are all related to low PHP configuration limits. The solution is to increase the PHP limits. You can do this on your own, or contact your web host and ask them to increase those limits to a minimum as follows:
Minimum:
- upload_max_filesize (32M)
- memory_limit (128M)
- max_execution_time (180)
Recommended:
- upload_max_filesize (256M)
- max_input_time (300)
- memory_limit (256M)
- max_execution_time (300)
You can check your PHP configuration limits by installing a simple plugin found here. In addition, you can contact your host and ask them what the current settings are.
We aim to help our clients if they need additional information about the theme’s options and features or have any unresolved difficulties with template.
Our Theme come with 6 months of included support and free lifetime updates for your theme. Once the 6 months of included support is up, you have the opportunity to extend support coverage up to 6 or 12 months further. You can install the theme in two ways: through WordPress, or via FTP. The reendex.zip file is the Installable WordPress Theme and what you need to use to get the theme installed. There are two ways to install Reendex Theme, via WordPress or via FTP. But first, you need to download the Theme files from your ThemeForest account. Navigate to your downloads tab on ThemeForest and find Reendex. Click the download button to see the two options; The Main Files and the Installable WordPress Theme.
Downloading The Main Files gives you all the content listed below
- reendex.zip – Located inside the Reendex Theme folder, this is the installable WordPress file you’ll need to install or update the theme manually.
- reendex-child.zip – Located inside the Child-Theme folder, this is a child theme you can use to make changes to core theme files.
- Sample-Data Folder – Contains the demo file for One Click Demo installation
Downloading The Installable WordPress Theme Gives you the reendex.zip file only
- reendex.zip – This is the parent WordPress Theme, install this via WordPress. If you install it via FTP then unzip it first, then use the extracted folder.

Step 2 – Click the ‘Add New’ button on top of the page, then the ‘Upload Theme’ button.
Step 3 – Click ‘Choose File’ and find the theme files you’ve just downloaded. If you’ve downloaded the installable WordPress file, then you do not need to unzip the file. If you’ve downloaded the Full Theme Package, you have to unzip the master Reendex.zip file, there in you will see the reendex.zip file, this is the one you select to install.
Step 4 – Once the file has uploaded, to activate Reendex Theme go to WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and click the Activate button.

If you get an error: This usually occurs when either the PHP memory limit or max post size for WordPress has been reached. Read 1.1 Requirements For Reendex Theme. The easiest workaround for this is to install theme through FTP (see above). Alternatively you’ll need to change a number of settings either on WordPress or on your web host
- Once the Theme has been activated, you will have to install the following plugins, by clicking on Begin installing plugins

Once you have installed the above plugins, you'll have to return to the Plugins tab to activate them.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter errors during or after importing a demo, please see below for possible solutions. If you don’t find what you’re looking for below, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Demo Import Fails
If you receive this message “Sorry but your import failed”, most likely, it cannot work with your webhost. You will have to ask your webhost to increase your PHP max_execution_time (or any other webserver timeout to at least 300 secs) and memory_limit (to at least 196M) temporarily. it is due to low server memory or execution time and your host should definitely be willing to adjust that. They have it very low if the content will not import. Contact them and explain the issue, they should raise it for you.
It’s very common to get error messages about memory. This can happen when you install themes, plugins or upgrade to the latest WordPress version. Such types of problems arise because the PHP Memory Limit of your Host is pretty less than what the process requires for performing it’s functions. In such a case you would need to follow these tips to Increase your host’s PHP Memory Limit. These were provided by Dailybloging.org
Tips to increase the limit
- Increase the limit via PHP.ini file – You can directly increase the PHP Memory Limit if you have access to the PHP.ini file. Most small Shared hosting servers won’t give you access to the PHP.ini file. But some servers allow you to create a duplicate PHP.ini in your respective site Directories whose data/values will override the default PHP.ini values. To do that you just need to create a file with the name ‘php.ini’ in the directory where your WordPress site is installed. In that just add the command memory_limit = 128M in it to increase the Memory Limit to 128 MB.
- Change the Memory Limit via wp-config.php – If you don’t want to mess with the PHP.ini file, then you can go for this method. In this you won’t be needing to create any extra file in your Directory. Just Adding define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘128M’); in your ‘wp-config.php’ file would increase your PHP Memory Limit to 128 MB.
- Modify the .htaccess file to Increase Memory Limit – A Default WordPress Installation won’t have a .htaccess file. But in case you already have it for some purposes like ‘301 Redirection’, just add the command php_value memory_limit 128M in your ‘.htaccess’ file and your memory limit will increase to 128 MB.
- Talk with your Host – If you are a person who is new to all these things then it’s better to call with your Host provider.
If you want to import the demo content the old-fashioned way, you can use the XML file from Sample-Data folder. Don't forget to activate all required plugins before importing the demo data. To import the demo data go to Tools > Import, click on WordPress (install the WordPress Importer plugin if not already installed) and upload/import the all_content.xml file (don't forget to enable the Download and import file attachments checkbox to also import the images).
Demo Widgets
After you import the demo content, you should also import the widgets the old-fashioned way. The file for widget import is also located in the Sample-Data folder. Install the Widget Importer & Exporter plugin, go to Tools » Widget Import/Export and import the widgets.wie file.
After import setup
After you have imported the demo data and the widgets, you should also setup the following things:
- 1. Navigate to Settings > Reading. At the top of this screen, you’ll see a section titled “Front page displays”. Click the little bubble next to the “A static page” option.
From this option’s “Front page” drop-down menu, select “Home” page.
From the “Post page” drop-down menu, select “Blog” page. Be sure to save changes when you’re finished.
- 2. Go to Appearance > Menus. Chose Main Menu from Select a menu to edit: drop-down menu on the left and click on "Select" button. Then go to the bottom of the page and check "Main Menu" from Menu Settings list. You'll have to repeat the above steps for all the other menus. E.g.: Chose Main Menu Bottom from drop-down list and check "Main Menu Bottom" from Menu Settings list.
You can setup automatic updates with the Envato Market plugin. This plugin will inform you when a new version of the theme is available on Themeforest and you can then update it with a click of a button.
- First make sure that the Envato Market plugin is installed and activated. You can download it from here. Once the plugin is ready, you can click on Envato Market in the WP menu.
- There are two variations on how to setup this plugin. You can set the Global OAuth Personal Token or you can set the Single Use OAuth Personal Token.
The difference is that in Single Token you can setup updates for a single theme, but in Global setup, you will be able to update/install all your themes you purchased on Themeforest.
For easier setup, we will use the Global OAuth Personal Token. You just need to click on the generate a personal token link, which will take you to the envato page, where you will need to login and generate the token.
- Once there you need to give your token a name. Read the list of permission requests beneath; the default ticks are necessary for the plugin to work. Tick the others you agree with.
Once you have agreed to the terms and conditions you can click the Create Token button.
- When you are redirected to the green Success! screen make sure that you copy and paste your token. Envato do not keep a copy of it. You will need to go through the process again to generate another.
- Next, go back to the Envato Market section of your WordPress dashboard and paste the token code into the Token field, then click Save Changes. If you see the error message below, try going back a step, re-enter the code and it should work just fine.
- Once you save the token, you will see a list of all themes that you purchased on Themeforest.
- To update the theme just click on Update Available and the theme will update to the latest version.
- 1. First you will need to download the latest version of your theme. Go to ThemeForest downloads and download the installable zip file (Installable WordPress files only).
- 2. Unzip that file, inside you will find the folder called reendex where the theme files are located (the root folder of the theme is the one which has the style.css file in it).
- 3. Overwrite all the files in the current version of the theme (wp-content/themes/reendex/) with the new files.
If you are doing this on your local server, just copy/paste the entire folder and overwrite all the files.
If you are updating remote (live website) server, you can do this using a FTP protocol.
Make sure you make a backup of files and database in advance, just in case!
- 4. Important: Update both reendex-theme-helper.zip and js_composer.zip plugins to the latest versions. These two files are located in reendex/inc/plugins folder.
I recommend you to test the things locally first, because some options might be affected with the updates. However, you cannot loose the content (pages, posts, services, galleries, projects ...) during the update, because all the content resides in the MySQL database and is not affected during the update.
Reendex Theme comes with a Child Theme ready to be used.
Simply install reendex-child.zip from Child-Theme folder and activate the Child Theme just like a regular theme after you have installed Reendex Theme.
What is a Child Theme?
A child theme is a theme that inherits all the functionality and styling of another theme, called the parent theme. Child themes are the recommended way of modifying an existing theme. Child themes allow you to modify or add to the functionality of the existing parent theme.
Why use a Child Theme?
Always use a Child Theme when modifying any theme files. This way you make sure a theme update will not wipe out any changes you have made to the files.
There are a few reasons why you would want to use a child theme: If you modify a theme directly and it is updated, then your modifications may be lost. By using a child theme you will ensure that your modifications are preserved. Child themes can also be used for a number of other things, such as custom CSS applications, template file modifications, and custom PHP functions.
Downloading and Installing Reendex Child Theme
You must first download and install the Reendex Child Theme to begin making your customizations. The Reendex Child Theme comes with downloading Reendex’s Full Package from ThemeForest, and the method of installing it is exactly the same as installing the Reendex Theme. In the popup window, set the element properties as you wish.
How to create Sticky Modules in WPBakery Page Builder
- 1. Add sticky-module class to column, in Extra Class Name section.
- 2. Add visible class to row, in Extra Class Name section.
In some of the Reendex Theme elements, you'll have to enter in the categories or tags that you would like to feature in different sections of functionality.
To add the category / tag, navigate to element editor and type the name of category / tag you'd like to add to the element, in the top "Data source" field. You can enter multiple categories and tags:
In Reendex Theme's Video elements, you'll have to enter in the IDs of categories that you would like to feature in module.
To find the ID of a category, first you'll need to navigate to your categories listing page in the WordPress admin by going to Video > Video Categories. Once you have arrived at this page, you'll see a list of your categories like so:
The simpler method of this procedure would be to simply hover over the link of the category that you're interested in getting the ID from (e.g. Car News, Reviews and Auto Shows from the above image). Doing so should display the URL of this page in the lower left corner of your browser window. This will look a little different in each browser, but in Firefox it will look something like this:
The thing to to take note of in this particular URL is the value of the tag_ID query string. Note that for this example the value is 489, which is the ID for this category. If you're having trouble locating the URL in the lower left corner of your browser, click on the link to the category edit screen of the category that you want to get the ID from in WordPress. Once you're on the category edit screen for that category, look up at the address bar in your browser and you should see something like the following:
Note that we're still looking for the same tag_ID query string and the value associated with it, which in this case is still 489. That's all there is to it, simply take note of this value and use it where needed in the theme, for example in the following Reendex - Video Project WPBakery Page Builder element:
- 1. To open the Page Settings, go to Pages tab, hover on the page you'd like to edit, and click on Edit.
- 2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the Page settings.
- 1. To get started adding a new page to your site, navigate to the Pages tab and click the ‘Add New’ option.
- 2. Add the title of the page, like About. Note: If you have pretty permalinks set up, the title of your page will also be the URL slug.
- 3. The Page Attributes section applies a parent page and template to your new page. For the Parent section, you can arrange your pages into hierarchies. For example, you could create this new page with additional pages under it. There are no limits to how many levels you can nest pages.
- 4. Add content to your page using the editor field. You can enter text or common HTML markups to add content, or you can use WPBakery Page Builder to add elements to the page, as described on the WPBakery Page Builder section of this tutorial.
- 5. The Publish section of the page editor is exactly the same as for writing posts. When you’re ready to publish, you can either publish immediately, save this as a draft, or schedule the page to be published later. By click on the Publish button, you’ve added a new page to your site.
Setting up your home page is the same as setting up any other regular pages, except that you need to specify in the settings which page will be your Main Home Page.
- 1. Navigate to Settings > Reading tab.
- 2. Select A Static Page option.
- 3. Choose the page you want as your home page from the Front Page dropdown list.
- 4. Click on the Save Changes button.
To edit a post that already exists on your site, got to Posts > All Posts, hover on the title of the post you want to edit in the list provided, and click on Edit

You can show or hide the banner.
You can use either the featured image of the current post, or the image from customizer.
You can show or hide the banner title and you can set your own title.
You can show or hide the breadcrumbs on banner.
Category is one of the pre-defined taxonomies in WordPress. It is used to sort and group content into different sections. A website publishing content on a variety of topics can divide their website into sections using categories.
Example: Reendex Theme have categories for articles filed under News, Sport, World, etc.
If no category is specified for a post then the post is automatically filed into the default category. In a new WordPress installation, the default category is ‘Uncategorized’. You can change the default category from Settings > Writing screen. A post can be filed under multiple categories and can have both categories and tags.
5.6.1 How to add Categories
- 1. You can add a new category from Posts > Categories tab. A post can be filed under multiple categories and can have both categories and tags.
- 2. Provide a name, and if you want you can add a Slug, which is a URL friendly name in lowercase and can only have letters, numbers, and hyphens.
